About this photograph
This black and white photograph was made in 1924 and comes from the Library of Congress.
1 photograph : gelatin silver print ; sheet 17 x 22 cm. | Photograph shows group portrait of staff at factory, possibly a mahjong factory in Shanghai.
We restored it from the original archival scan – cleaning dust and damage, balancing the tones and enlarging it for print – and set it in a museum-style archival layout with its title, date and source.
